Dr Allah Rang, former professor of Punjab Agricultural University, took the delegates to fields, where the delegation had discussion with the farmers.

The foreign delegates said that Europe had huge demand of flower seeds and India can tap the potential as the Indian seed quality as compared to other countries is much better and trusted.

Director, horticulture, Lajwinder Singh Brar informed that Punjab was making big strides in the exports of the flower seeds to western countries. He said that apart from that floriculture, the Punjab Government is encouraging the farmers to go for the farming of guava, citrus, litchi and other alternatives to break the paddy, wheat pattern.

Dr Allah Rang said that the farmers can increase their income by adopting floricuture which gives at least Rs 60,000 per acre for a crop, which is much more than paddy and wheat.
