The Nakodar city police have booked an inspector with Punjab Agro Corporation of embezzling a large stock of wheat from its store at Nakodar.

In a complaint to Jalandhar (rural) SSP, Punjab Agro district manager JS Bajwa said that five lakh bags of wheat were stored in an open plinth at Nakodar, of which 18,500 bags of wheat were now missing. SP (operation) ordered the registration of a case against the accused after an inquiry.

SHO Subash Bath said that a case under Section 409 (criminal breach of trust by a public servant) has been registered against inspector Gurmeet Singh, in-charge food grain store, Nakodar.
