"Instead of diving into drugs, one should take our example and have passion to do something", said Arunima Sinha, the first female amputee to climb the Mount Everest at the 19th foundation day of Punjab Technical University.

Sinha was the guest of honour along with para-Olympic powerlifter Rajinder Singh Rahelu.

"I have seen youngsters moving into depression. I could have also been depressed with the fact that I don't have a leg. But I told myself that I still can reach Mt Everest and I did," she added.

Sinha shared her journey from laying on the railway track for several hours after an accident and losing a foot to completing her Mount Everest Mission.

"During my Mount Everest Journey, I went through lot many troubles, but at the end, I created history for India. Create a goal for yourself and make it your passion. Don't lose heart and be focused and then see where you can reach," Sinha said.

On the other hand, dealing with infantile paralysis, Rajinder Singh Rahelu, Arjuna Awardee and paralympic powerlifter shared, "I was contracted with polio when I was only eight months old. I use to crawl to go from one classroom to another till tenth class. I met a friend during my teenage who was a coach and shared with him that I want to try for powerlifting. When he supported, I gave my best and worked quite hard and today, I am an Arjuna Awardee and have a couple of gold, silver and bronze medals along with silver in 2014 Commonwealth Games. No matter what your circumstances are, it is only you who can lead yourself on the right track."
