Interactive sessions on security held at GNDEC

Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC), Ludhiana, organised a TEQIP-II sponsored workshop on security for its security staff in two different sessions on Wednesday.

College director MS Saini accorded warm welcome to the resource person (Col) HS Singha, director, GNIMT Model Town, Ludhiana.

The resource person has the Unique Experience of training soldiers, recruits, NCO etc. During his service tenure he had attended a specialized course for security for three months.

During the workshop, he said, “Security department is a full time operation and its goal is to provide a safe and secure environment to the students, faculty, staff and visitors.

Security staff has to respond to many types of situations, like security of men, material and information, including emergencies such as fire, medical illness and injuries.” He gave practical hints on performing security duties at main gate during night and at crucial places.

He also highlighted the importance of CCTV, metal detectors and alarm system in maintaining effective security in an organisation.

TEQIP-II coordinator JN Jha, nodal officer Sandeep Singh Gill, and event coordinator SS Arora, and nodal officer Harwinder Singh.

Saini exhorted the security staff to perform their duties diligently and with loyalty and dedication. He thanked the resource person for the interactive session.
