Irate mob torches bus after accident in Batala

Locals burnt down a bus after two men, aged 21 and 22, were injured in a road accident in Batala today. According to police officials, the victims were on a motorbike and were driving on the wrong side of the road.

Locals burnt down a bus after two men, aged 21 and 22, were injured in a road accident here on Wednesday. According to police officials, the victims were on a motorbike and were driving on the wrong side of the road.


"The two men on the bike were coming from the wrong side of the road and they collided against the bus. At the moment, they are injured and are in the hospital. Reacting to this, a certain group of people torched the bus. The injured are being treated in the hospital and strict action would be taken against the culprits," said Additional Station House Officer, Jagjeet Singh.

The injured were rushed to the nearest hospital and their condition was said to be critical.

The mob attacked the bus in the presence of the police personnel, but the police were unable to control angry locals.
