Girl students of Yadavindra Public School here have bagged the top positions in the ICSE Class-12 results for 2013-14 session, which were declared on Saturday evening.
Vireet Randhawa, a humanities student of the school, topped in the school by securing 95.75 percent marks in Class-12 results.
Vireet gave the credit of her success to hard work and her faith in herself. She said: "I have achieved this position just because of the continuous support and encouragement from my parents and teachers. I always preferred school books during my preparation for the examination."
On her future plans, she said:"My aim is to clear the civil services examination and serve the nation. I will pursue my studies in psychology honours."
In the commerce stream, Akshita Singla topped in the school with 94.75 percent marks. Akshita said:" I am very happy that I have secured good marks in the board examination. I have been consistent in my studies and maintained the balance between academics and other activities. I listened to my teachers and followed their advice. I will try to get admission in economics honors."
Eleven students of the school have scored more than 90 percent marks out of a total of 90 students who appeared in the examination. The pass percentage of the school remained 100 per cent. As many as 27 students have secured more than 80 percent marks.
In humanities, Ana Roopraj scored the second position with 93 percent marks and Rabani got the third position by scoring 92.75 percent marks.
Other toppers of the commerce stream include Mehramat, who got the second position with 92.75 percent marks. While the third position was bagged by Anmol Mehta who got 91.75 percent marks.
Stanley Vinod Kumar, principal, Yadavindra Public School, expressed his happiness and said that the credit went to the students who worked hard during the year to achieve the position in the merit list.
