J&K cop, wife killed in Hoshiarpur road mishap

A Jammu and Kashmir policeman and his wife were killed in a bus-car collision on Sunday morning at Machia village in Hoshiarpur when they were on their way to Chandigarh.

As per information, the couple was going to Chandigarh for admission to their daughter, when the bus coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with their Santro car.

J&K assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Sanjay Kumar and his wife Rano Bhatt were killed on the spot.Eye-witnesses claimed that the impact of the collision was so intense that the car was completely damaged.

After the accident, bus driver and conductor abandoned the vehicle and fled, leaving passengers behind.

After getting information about the incident, the police rushed to the spot. A case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered in this connection.
