Jagraon village teacher held for being drunk, misbehaving with teachers

Police on Thursday arrested a teacher of a Jagraon village school after he was found drunk on the school premises and misbehaving with the staff.

Police on Thursday arrested a teacher of a Jagraon village school after he was found drunk on the school premises and misbehaving with the staff.

The incident took place at Sohia village in the afternoon. Teachers of Government Senior Secondary School alleged that Jagdeep Singh misbehaved with them and even used abusive language with the staff. The principal sounded village sarpanch Mukhtiar Singh, who called the police.

Chowkiman police arrested the teacher and got him medically examined at a Jagraon hospital. The police booked him under Sections 294 (obscene acts and songs) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC.

DSP Harinder Pal Singh said that on the complaint of a teacher, a case had been registered against Jagdeep.
