Joining the ongoing verbal battle among other candidates from Amritsar Lok Sabha seat, Dr Daljit Singh, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) nominee today said his BJP rival Arun Jaitley is trying to ‘piggyback’ on the so-called Modi wave besides Badals and revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia.

“Jaitley is contesting from Amritsar and trying to piggyback on the so-called Modi wave, which itself is contestable in Punjab. He is also piggybacking on the Badals, Majithia and other leaders of the SAD-BJP alliance”, said the noted eye surgeon.

Observing that many of these leaders have been discredited by the public, he had a dig at Majithia, “Some were named in the multi-million drug scandal by its kingpin ‘Bhola’ himself ”.

He further said that it would have been better for Jaitley to “go on his own steam than to piggyback on someone because many times such a move backfires. Also, those who piggyback on other hardly sprout their own wings”.

Dr Daljit Singh said, “Why was Jaitely waiting for so long to bring about development to Amritsar.
