Harish Jain, younger brother of Satish Jain, owner of Haveli restaurants and resorts, has filed a police complaint against Satish for allegedly forging the documents to throw him out of 50 per cent partnership in the business empire worth crores spread in two states.
In a complaint to the city police, Harish has demanded registration of case against Satish and four others under various sections 406 (Punishment for criminal breach of trust), 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) 467, (Forgery of valuable security), 468 (Forgery for purpose of cheating) and 471 (Using as genuine a forged) of the IPC.
In a complaint to police, the younger brother said they are three brothers in the family and he was the youngest.
Harish alleged that he had never resigned from the company and a forged resignation letter was executed by his brother in connivance with others. He claimed that he never received any notice or intimation of the board meeting in which the resolution for acceptance of his resignation was passed.
"I was in the business altogether, but he was shocked after finding about the development on September 8.
He said when he wanted to start a Haveli restaurant in Model Town for his own family and went for the registration of his firm, he was stunned to note that he was no longer a director in the firm in which he had a 50-50 stake.
He alleged that police have been working under pressure and the entire machinery is in under the influence of Satish.
On the other hand, Satish refuted allegations of his brother and claimed that his younger brother was never a partner into the firm and he had himself resigned from the firm in 2011 and was just a shareholder.
"I opposed the opening of restaurant which he (Harish) was going to open in Model Town and it is just because of this, he is filling baseless allegations against me," Satish claimed by adding that he was waiting for the police to record statement and when summons would arrive, he would himself to go the police.
