After being harassed through fake Facebook profile, a Jalandhar-based family has lodged a complaint with the state cyber police station in SAS Nagar.

In a complaint to the state cyber cell, Rohit Kumar, a resident of Khambra village near Jalandhar, and a student of Btech, alleged that an unidentified person was trying to malign their image by posting morphed photographs of their family members and also harassing them and threatening them to post their obscene photographs on the social networking site.

Kumar said an unidentified person sent him a friend request, which he accepted around a month ago.

He further alleged that after the acceptance of friend request the person started threatening him and also threatened to malign the image of his family.

Kumar said the unidentified person also posted his sister's morphed photograph and also threatened to post more photographs in the future.

A case has been registered and investigations are on in the case.
