Annoyed at having to wait for his turn at a hairdressing salon, a youth on Sunday morning attacked the barber with a sharp-edged weapon at New Vijay Nagar locality of the city, leaving the victim seriously injured.
The victim, Aiyak Masih (38), who owns Bombay Hair Salon, is undergoing treatment at Satyam Hospital. He sustained injuries on hands, wrists, head and chest. A finger of his left hand had to be amputated.
The victim claimed that the alleged attacker, Amarjeet, in his twenties, came to his shop for hair cut a few days ago and had to wait for his turn due to rush. Amarjeet started abusing him over the delay and the two had a heated argument, he said. Amarjeet came to the shop on Sunday morning again and he had to wait for his turn due to rush at the shop, he added.
Masih said Amarjeet, who left in a huff and returned with five or six men who were carrying sharp-edged weapons and baseball bats, attacked him inside the shop. When his assistant Raiya intervened, they also attacked him and fled from the spot. Then Raiya called Masih’s family and they took him to the civil hospital from where he was taken to the Satyam Hospital.
A case under section 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) and others has been registered against Amarjeet and others. Police station-2 SHO Jiwan Singh said said that the Amarjeet and his accomplices are absconding and raids are on to arrest them.
