Jalandhar man abducted, rescued from Moga; all 5 accused nabbed

Five persons allegedly abducted a 20-year-old man working with a finance consultancy firm from the busy market on Police Lines road near the judicial complex on Friday evening.

The police said they had traced the victim and nabbed the kidnappers from Moga after chasing them for few hours.

The accused have been identified as Lakhwinder Singh, Satnam Singh, Harjit Singh and Ashish, all are residents of Moga.

The victim, Prince, a resident of Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar, was working with a private finance firm for last two years. He went to a tea stall on the main road when some youths in silver car abducted him at 4 pm.

Anuj Makkar, the owner of the finance consultancy firm, told Hindustan Times that and Prince was their loyal worker.

He said some people came to his office at about 3.45 pm and informed him that Prince was abducted by five persons on the main road. He said he had called up the police and their senior officers had rushed to the spot and started investigation.

A senior police officer said they had nabbed the accused in Moga. He said a money deal was the reason behind this, the details of which were yet to be disclosed.

The incident took place at the market adjacent to the passport office and is also near the Police Lines.
