Jalandhar students excel in AIEEE merit list

Several students from the city have excelled in the AIEEE exam by securing top ranks. Aayush Dhir, a student of local Apeejay School, has stood sixth in the state and topped the district, while Raman has secured the 11th state rank and stood second in the district.

Several students from the city have excelled in the AIEEE exam by securing top ranks. Aayush Dhir, a student of local Apeejay School, has stood sixth in the state and topped the district, while Raman has secured the 11th state rank and stood second in the district.

Other toppers are Surabhi(15), Rudatdeep (28), Akshay(37), Abhay Khosla(38), Pulkit Puri(61), Sumant Ahuja (79), Diljot (99), Shivanshu Dhawan (104), Sangeet Arora (121), Roshni(145), Harsh(146), Sharandeep(498) and Bhavneet (637).

Speaking to HT, district topper Aayush Dhir who got 280 rank in national ranking said that he was taking admission in IIT Kanpur in the trade of mechanical engineering. "Computer science was my first choice but looking at the ranking of the IIT Kanpur, I have decided to go with mechanical engineering," he said.

"I will wait for the outcome of final counselling in the hope to get computer science in reputed IIT," said Aayush, the son of an industrialist, who credits his success to a coaching centre.Ramandeep Kaur with an All India Rank of 219 wants to get admission in an NIT at Warrangal or at Delhi Technical University. "Both these institutes are top ten engineering colleges of the nation. In IITs, I will not be able to get admission in Computers or Electronics and Communication Engineering so I am focused in these two colleges," she said adding that, " I have been preparing for these exams from 10+1 under the guidance of NBS Gurukul."

"Computer programs have always attracted me, hence I am chossing this as a career." Surabhi, who stood third third in district, with a state rank of 15 got a national ranking of 921, said: "I am focussing for the admission in IIT Delhi. I have toiled hard for this sucess."

A pass out from Urban Estate branch of MGN Public School and 37th state rank holder Akshay Kharbanda speaking to HT said, "I am trying to get admission in Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering in any of the reputed IITs."

Abhay Khosla. 38 rank holder, said that he wanted to be a successful software programmer. Bhavneet (637) said that he would try his luck in Thapar, NIT Jalandhar or Guru Nanak Dev University based on his AIEEE rankings.
