Jalandhar: Two tested positive for swine flu

Two persons were tested positive from Swine flu in the district on Monday, which took toll to 24 positive cases being reported by health department.

Santosh Sehdev, resident of Amar Nagar at Gulab Devi road and Karishna Devi of Randhawa village in Phillaur were detected positive with H1N1 virus and were admitted to hospital.

Moreover, health department has also found four persons suffering from H1N1-B category.

Sonia of village Bilga, Bharat Singh of ,Amrik nagar, Rattan Singh, Surya Enclave, and Randhir Singh of Goraya Chutala in Hoshiarpur district

They were taken under observation at Isolation ward of civil hospital. Now, the total number of B-category indoor patients reached to 11.

Further, 44 c- category patients have also been reported by department.

As per health department, 11 persons had died in the district suspected of suffering from swine flu.

District epidemiologist Dr Satish Sood said that health department has all arrangements with itself to fight flu in the district.

He said that virus spreads from person to person and one should immediately go for medical checkup with after finding symptoms include coughing, sneezing, body-ache, fever, chills, fatigue, diarrhoea, vomiting, restlessness, sore throat and runny nose.
