10 trucks of illicit liquor impounded

The rural police on Saturday seized 10 trucks of illicit country-made liquor in Goraya town of the district.


Police and excise department were still counting the cache of liquor, which was estimated at about 15,000 boxes. The liquor was supposed to be delivered in surrounding villages ahead of elections in the state.

Seven persons, accompanying these trucks, were arrested by the Goraya police. The police said acting on a tip-off, a police team have put a naka near Chachori village near Goraya on Saturday evening. Superintendent of police (detective) HPS Khakh said excise officials had been called in to register a case in this connection.
