Target of 100% safe drinking water facility to the villages would be achieved within this financial year, claimed deputy commissioner Varun Roojam. He said that 1385 villages had been given the facility and work on remaining 2 villages was going on full stretch.
Roojam said that there was a proposal to augment the drinking water facility in 48 villages in the current year at a cost Rs. 25.31. He said that the government would spend Rs. 5.43 crore for providing urban facilities to four villages namely Badial, Tanuli and Badewal of Dasuya block and Nurpur Jattan of Garshankar.After the success of these projects more villages would be brought under this scheme, he added.
He said that public health department would build latrines in 220 villages for 1830 APL & BPL card holders at a cost of Rs. 2.68 crore. He added that this facility had already been provided to 768 families in 30 villages.
