Accused Janak Raj alias Ajay Kumar and Rajesh Kumar have since been declared proclaimed offenders (PO's). Their two accomplices were, however, arrested.

The accused and their accomplices had assaulted the jeweller who, later, died of his injuries. DSP HPS Parmar regretted the failure of the police to arrest the accused.
