2 lakh to next of kin of each deceased: CM

Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal has expressed profound grief and anguish over the tragic incident and has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh each to the next of the kin of the deceased.

He has also directed the district administration to provide free treatment to all of the injured.

Sharing his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved families, the chief minister also prayed to the almighty to give them courage to bear the irreparable loss in the hour of crisis and grant peace to the departed souls.

Twelve school children were killed in an head-on collission between the school bus and a truck near Gohir village on the Jalandhar-Nakodar Road.
