3 of family booked for cheating

Nakodar sadar police have booked Joga, a resident of Gandhran village, his father Kewal Krishan and mother Darsho for cheating, criminal conspiracy and sexually exploiting a woman on promise of marrying her.


Sapna, resident of Mohalla Guru Nanak Pura complained that she was married to Kuldeep Lal but after divorce she came in contact with Joga, who promised to marry her and his family also had given consent.

She said that she had lived together with Joga and became pregnant. When she asked Joga and his family to solemnise their marriage they turned hostile and disowned her.

Investigating officer Sarabjit Singh said a case under Sections 493 (cohabitation caused by a man deceitfully inducing a belief of lawful marriage) 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC has been registered against the accused. No arrests have been made.

Jasnoor kidnapping case : Kidnappers in two day police remand

A local court has sent Soni Kumar and Vishal Kumar, both kidnappers of nine-year-old Jasnoor, to two day police remand on Monday.
Both the accused lived in Jasnoor's neighbourhood and were residents of local Sant Nagar. The Navi Baradari police have been investigating three mobile phone sims recovered from the kidnappers to find out whether they were procured through fake documents or not. Both the kidnappers are allegedly drug addicts and hatched a plan to kidnap the boy when he was playing cricket on August 29.
