Cong MLA apprehends revival of terrorism

Kapurthala: Local MLA Rana Gurjit Singh, who attended the cremation of ASI Gurdev Singh, on Tuesday apprehended revival of terrorism in the state.

“It is highly unfortunate that police officers are being killed in the state while performing their duties. Certain political persons are responsible for this as they shield criminals for their benefits,” he told mediapersons.

“The law and order situation in the state is deteriorating. I don't know what the present government is doing about it. If they do not snub activists of its units like SOI, such incidents could lead to terrorism in the state,” he added.

“The state government should take action against those leaders who shelter criminals in order to maintain law and order in the state,” he added.

No leader from the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janata Party alliance was present at the cremation to comfort the bereaved family.
