Following its Gujarat counterpart, the Punjab unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has planned to webcast the rally of its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi at Moga on December 21, for maximum outreach.

Convener of the party's information technology (IT) cell Rakesh Goyal disclosed that the party was contemplating the modalities to provide links on its portal, and had been looking for bids from various vendors.

“This programme has been planned after the face-to-face interaction with the BJP chief here got an overwhelming response,” he added.

“The rally at Moga is going to be historic in many respects. It is supposed to be one of the biggest rallies, and we are going to arrange this provision for those who fail to be a part of this event due to other commitments,” he said.

“This is being done by the Gujarat unit of the BJP with tremendous success,” he claimed.

Case too hot: Police probe a cover-up?

Summons to Punjab revenue minister Bikram Singh Majithia by the Enforcement Directorate has raised questions on the probe by the Punjab Police into the multi-crore drug racket. Busted with the arrest of Anoop Singh Kahlon, an NRI, by the Fatehgarh Sahib police in March 2013, it led to the arrest of alleged kingpin Jagdish Bhola, a dismissed Punjab deputy superintendent of police (DSP), in November last year.
