In her order passed on February 4, deputy commissioner Shruti Singh said that a report from Nakodar SDM said that Lambardar had become a citizen of the United Kingdom. He was issued a showcause notice on January 9.

Lambardar Harlal Singh said in his reply that his house land is situated in village. He has voter identity card and ration card and goes abroad but lives mostly in his village. He said that he would inform the government when he would go abroad in future.

DC in her order said that dereliction in duty is gross violation of rules and is not in people's interest. Therefore, the Lambardar is dismissed for not appointing Sabrah Lambardar during his stay abroad under rule 16 (II) {C} and {D} of Punjab Land Revenue Rules.
