The Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Kamal Sharma on Friday claimed that problems caused by the Punjab government introduced E-Trip system to bring transparency in transaction of traders and check evasion have been solved. Sharma said BJP took a strong stand against imposition of E-Trip and hence the government made required changes in it. He claimed that issue of property tax and regularization of illegal colonies have also been amicably solved after the BJP took the matter with the SAD.

Traders in Punjab are agitated for the past three weeks against the system alleging that it was causing unnecessary harassment. "We are voicing about the genuine problem of the traders," said Sharma, who was in Nakodar to attend a meeting of district executive of Jalandhar(south) to prepare party leaders for Lok sabha polls. Party general secretary Tarun Chug, Jalandhar central MLA Manoranjan Kalia were also  present at the meeting.
