For promoting writing spirit among students, education deptt to launch monthly magazine

To provide platform for students and other staff to share their views and to motivate them, the education department has decided to launch a monthly magazine from New Year.                                                            


The magazine, proposed to be published from this month, will have information related to government schools in the state. Kumar Rahul, director general of school education (DGSE), said that the aim of launching the magazine was to appreciate the achievements of students, teachers and other staff members and motivate others.

He added that the magazine would carry photographs of meritorious students and the teachers, who excel in performance, and articles written by students and teachers.                                                                                     

"Teachers, students and other staff can contribute articles in the magazine related to education, literature, co-curricular and other relevant material. The DEOs have been informed to send the material till January 15 at," he said.                                                                       

He said parents of students could also send their writings which would be chosen and published.                                                                                            

"The students of non-government schools are also invited to send their articles. We will select the best articles and publish them," he added. Students, teachers and other staff members could contribute writings under sections including literature (write-ups and poems), face-to-face (dialogue with personalities related to education field, literature, culture, social, agriculture, religion, science and knowledge, 'godri de laal' (education issues related with needy or orphan children), learning techniques (edusat or audio visual), captions (drawing caption competition), entertainment (puzzles, letters, stories), achievers in sports, activities, health (related to deaf and dumb students), career guidance, letters and departmental information.                                                                                                                            

"The write-ups related to the achievements of school teachers and students on at the district level will also be appreciated," he added.
