Giani Tarlochan Singh's ashes immersed in Sutlej

The ashes of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Jathedar Giani Tarlochan Singh, who had died on Wednesday, were immersed in the Sutlej at Gurdwara Patalpuri Sahib in Kiratpur Sahib on Friday evening.


Earlier, Giani Tarlochan Singh's family members brought his ashes from Anandpur Sahib to Gurdwara Patalpuri Sahib. Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib head granthi Bhai Sukhwinder Singh performed ardas before the immersion ceremony.

Anandpur Sahib MP Ravneet Singh Bittu, SGPC members Amarjit Singh Chawla and Surinder Singh were among those present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the decision regarding the appointment of the new jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib would be taken after Giani Tarlochan Singh's bhog and antim ardas, to be held on August 10.
