A civil writ petition in this matter was filed by Manit Malhotra, a local BJP leader, against the illegal construction of shops by the Congress Bhawan authorities, following which the court had ordered deputy commissioner, who is also the chairperson of Jalandhar Improvement Trust (JIT), to inquire into the allegations and take necessary action within three months.
