Insects found in mid-daymeal at local school, again

After insects were reportedly found in mid-day meal at Government Primary School for Girls, Garha, and Guru Ravidass High School on Thursday, a team of education department on Friday conducted surprise checks at 35 government schools in the city to check quality of food served to students.


Shockingly, insects were found on Friday in rice served to students at Government Senior Secondary School, Maqsudan.

Rattan Lal, district midday meal manager, said of 35 schools, which were inspected on Friday, mid-day meal was delivered late in four schools, including Government Primary School, Kirti Nagar; Government Middle School, Paragpur; Government Primary School, Kot Ramdass, and Government Senior Secondary School, Paragpur. The food supplied by the NGO was found less in quantity in 12 schools, Lal added. The report was submitted to the DEO (elementary) and deputy commissioner on Friday.
