A local court on Saturday sent businessman Harbans Dhall to two-day police custody in connection with the alleged rape of his 16-year-old maid last year.

The police brought Dhall on production warrants from the jail and wanted to interrogate him to arrest the three other accused who are still absconding.

With two days to go for hearing in the case, Dhall on May 13 had surrendered before the court, which sent him to judicial custody.

On September 25 last year, the victim in her complaint to the police alleged that Dhall raped her several times when he was alone at home and threatened her with dire consequences if she told others of this.

On September 15, Dhall's wife and daughter-in-law allegedly came to the victim's house and took her to a private hospital where doctors found that the girl to be pregnant.
