Major Singh and his accomplice, Bobby, had raped a 14-year-old girl of their village in August 2012.

As per the prosecution record, Major Singh dragged the girl inside a deserted building, when she was passing by it, where the other accused also joined him and committed the crime.

They threatened the victim of dire consequences if she told anyone of the incident. The girl, however, informed her parents who approached the Garhshankar police.

While Bobby's trial is going on in a juvenile court, the court sentenced Major to 10-year imprisonment under Section 376 (rape) and two years under Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC. Both the sentences would run concurrently.
