Alleging that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had cheated Punjab and claiming that former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh held foreign bank accounts when in power in the state, BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi raked up the issue of black money and nepotism within the Congress at a rally in here on Friday.

“On the issue of black money, Congress leaders are scared. A few days ago, a former Congress CM of Punjab was exposed for having foreign bank accounts. Can he explain these accounts? After May 16, the misdeeds of the Congress will be exposed.
Paayi paayi videshon main padi vapis laayi jage (all the black money lying in the foreign banks will be back),” said Modi.
In his 20-minute speech in favour of party candidate Vijay Sampla, Modi repeatedly referred to the UPA government as the ma-bete ki sarkar (the government of SoniaRahul, Congress president and vice-president, respectively).
Modi also attacked Manmohan. “I know, Manmohan ji worked as a teacher for many years in Hoshiarpur. He was PM for ten years, but tell me how many times he came here? Never. What he did for this city? Nothing,” he claimed.
“I will not cheat Punjab like the Congress PM did,” he promised.
