The victim, in her complaint to the police, said that she along with her parents and four siblings were staying at a rented accommodation in Bashirpura locality here for past five months.

The girl, a labourer doing petty jobs at new grain market to earn daily bread, alleged that she was descending from the first floor of her house to meet aunt Uma Devi living in the neighbourhood, when she noticed four persons were standing downstairs.

“As I was about to pass by them, Arjun tried to forcibly pull me inside another room on ground floor while his three accomplices virtually pushed me from the back. Then, the trio locked the room from outside and fled from the spot. I raised the alarm. Arjun raped me while I continue to cry for help,” the victim, eldest amongst the siblings, rued.

Daughter of a migrant labourer hailing from Uttar Pradesh, the victim was rescued from Arjun’s clutches after aunt Uma Devi reached the spot on noticing her niece’s alarm. She broke open the lock of the room to save the girl. Arjun, an employee of the Best Price call centre here, escaped from the spot, but was later arrested by the police from Bashirpura railway crossing, SHO Bimal Kant said.

Kant said that Arjun’s cousins Ranjeet Singh (20), Mani , a Class 12 student and Sunny, a Class 12 passout were identified as co-accused and raids were being conducted to nab them.
