Nawanshahr, Banga shopkeepers observes shutdown against four-laning of road

The shopkeepers in Nawanshahr and Banga on Wednesday observed complete shutdown against the proposed four-laning of road from Ropar to Phagwara, blocking traffc on Jalandar-Chandigarh road.

Jasnoor kidnapping case : Kidnappers in two day police remand

A local court has sent Soni Kumar and Vishal Kumar, both kidnappers of nine-year-old Jasnoor, to two day police remand on Monday.
Both the accused lived in Jasnoor's neighbourhood and were residents of local Sant Nagar. The Navi Baradari police have been investigating three mobile phone sims recovered from the kidnappers to find out whether they were procured through fake documents or not. Both the kidnappers are allegedly drug addicts and hatched a plan to kidnap the boy when he was playing cricket on August 29.
