New bus service for students

Punjab transport minister Ajit Singh Kohar has ordered Jalandhar roadways authorities to introduce new bus services from Bilga and Talwan villages to Nakodar for students commuting to schools and colleges in that town.

Jalandhar roadways general manger RPS Makhu told a delegation of residents on Friday that a new bus service would start from Talwan village from November 5. It would start at 7am and reach Nurmahal at 7.15am, from where it would proceed to Nakodar.

He added that a new bus service from Bilga village would start within a few days.

The move comes after local residents in a representation urged the transport minister to introduce new bus services from Talwan and Bilga villages for students.

Hussan Lal, secretary school education department had filed an additional affidavit before a bench headed by justice Mahesh Grover that sanctioned amount of Rs. 94 Lakh shall be released in 2 equal  installments. He had that said that finance department has already released the first installment of Rs. 47 Lakh and second installment shall be released during February 2013.
