No check-in without ID

The city police have ordered the owners of hotels and guesthouses to check-in no guest without examining the identity card first. Police commissioner Ishwar Singh stated here on Wednesday that the IDs were mandatory for hiring rooms and the orders will remain in effect for another two months. The managers are required to alert the police about guests who have checked in without stating name, address, contact, and the purpose of the visit. Surveillance cameras are must in hotels and guest houses.


DGP meets officials
Director general of police (DGP) Suresh Kumar Arora on Wednesday met his Jalandhar zone team to review preparedness for the parliamentary elections. He collected feedback from the officers and told them to round up all proclaimed offenders, drug traders and addicts, and members of the liquor mafia as precautionary measure.

The Jalandhar zone includes Jalandhar rural, Hoshiarpur and Kapurthala districts, Ludhiana rural, Khanna, and Fatehgarh Sahib. All district police chiefs were present.
