One pilgrim killed, two injured in road crash

A pilgrim on his way to Beas was killed and two of his co-passengers, including a woman, were seriously injured when the vehicle in which they were travelling was hit by an unidentified vehicle near Kartarpur on Saturday.

A Tata-407 carrying pilgrims to the dera satsang, Beas, became the victim of an hit-and-run accident.

In the accident, a pilgrim identified as Rajiv Nitu, resident of Garhshankar, was killed and two others including Kamlesh and her son Rakesh received severe injuries, police sources added.

The injured were immediately rushed to the nearby hospital, where their condition was stated to be critical, the police said.

A case regarding the accident has been registered at police station concerned and the body had been sent for post-mortem, police sources said.
