Police were informed about the abandoned bodies by Manjit Singh, a resident of the village, who was on the way to his fields when he noticed the bodies.

"The bodies of a boy and a girl, the twins, seem to be thrown by a woman to save herself from the ire of society. We have started investigations into the matter by checking the records of pregnant women from nurses and mid-wives of the area," revealed DSP Paramjeet Singh.

Police have registered a case.
