Political leaders, activists booked for the staging dharna on highway

 The Mehatpur police has booked leaders and activists of Naujwan Bharat Shaba and Kirti Kisan  Union  on charges of staging a dharna on Mehatpur –Jagraon road.

Sho Kulwinder Singh said that the alleged accused have been identified as Snadepp Arora And Satpal Sahota residents of Aadramaan village , Dilbag Singh Chandi resident of Madepur village, Harinder Singh of Raipur Gujjran village, Parkash Chand of Baloki village, Rajbir Singh of Sangowal village and their unidentified accomplices.

Sho said they had staged a dharna in front of Mehatpur police station and blocked traffic  on the Nakodar – Jagraon road. He said a case under sections  143( punishment for unlawful assembly) 283( obstruction in a public way) 290( punishment for public nuisance) 291( continue of a nuisance after injection to discontinue ) and 341( wrongful restrain) of the ipc has been registered against the accused.

Dharna was staged on Thursday to protest against police torturing women at the Bute Dian Chhana village.
