Protest against withdraw of Damage to Public and Private Property Bill

A joint union of farmer's organizations, Pendu mazdoor union and Student union along with many other unions held on Monday at front of district administration for their demands to reverse the "Damage to Public and Private Property Bill 2014" in Punjab which was recently passed by the Punjab state assembly.


Describing this bill as "black bill" union member held demonstrations and raise slogan against Punjab state government and demanded its

Protesters said that the bill is an imperialistic rule the protesters demanded and government needs to withdrawer this bill immediately.

All Union members claimed that government banned the protest and agitations in Chandigarh, Bathinda and Amritsar district even this bill still not approved in state

Member of Pendu mazdoor union, Tarsem Peter said that this is totally unfair with the people. Even government is still not bothered about their demands, how could they done justice with them after the implementation of this act.

As per prevention of "Damage to Public and Private Property Bill 2014" that if anyone found guilty of damaging public or private property during strike, road or rail blockade will attract imprisonment of up to one year in jail and will be liable to fine which may extend to Rs. 1 lakh.

Meanwhile member demands from government to withdraw this bill otherwise union member would intensify their protest in state.
