Punjab Subordinate Services Federation (PSSF) has lambasted the government for not paying salaries to its employees. It has decided to stage statewide protest rallies on Thursday in front of treasury offices.

In a statement, PSSF state president Satish Rana said that empty state coffers were the result of  wrong policies of the government. He said that the government had no idea how the employees, who had not been paid for the last two months, would be managing their households.

"The government failed to check its extravagance even as the financial situation of the state turned from bad to worse," he said. In case the government failed to make arrangements for the outstanding bills with immediate effect, PSSF would intensify agitation, he warned.

Condemning the Tarn Taran incident, Rana demanded criminal action against the cops who beat up a girl and her family members in full public view.
