Retired DSP commits suicide

A retired DSP of Punjab police Kulwant Singh committed suicide at his residence in Sher Singh Colony on Wednesday, after consuming some poisonous substances.

Kulwant had recently been booked in a case of cheating, after he failed to send a person abroad, after taking money. His travel agent son Paramjit Singh was also booked. ACP Ravinderpal Singh Sandhu told HT that Kulwant had written a suicide note. stating that he was under pressure due to the case registered against him. The body has been sent for post-mortem and a suicide case has been registered.
