City cops, already unable to find a solid lead in the robbery of lockers at Punjab & Sind Bank, were again caught napping. The burglary came to light on Monday, when the owner of Verma Compressor and Distributos AC Verma reached his shop and found the shutter broken, sources said. He immediately informed the police about the incident. Cops equipped with dog squad and forensic experts reached the spot and attempted to collect vital clues from the site.

During investigation, it came to light that the thieves had managed to drug the security guard. Police sources added that CCTV cameras fitted in the adjoining factory spotted the three accused near the shop at around 3:30am and their vehicle, a Swift car, was also caught on camera.

Meanwhile, security guard Major Singh, who revived after hours of the incident, said that he had seen the the three suspects roaming around the area before and could identify them. Sketches of the three accused are being made with the help of the guard.
