Three booked for dowry

The Nurmahal police have charged Karamjit singh, father Hari Krishan and mother Jasbir Kaur, all residents of Dhina village with charges of dowry harassment.

Karamjit's wife Baljit Kaur complained to the police that she was being tortured for dowry ever since her marriage in 2007. SHO Vijay Kanwarpal said a case under Sections 406 (breach of trust) and Section 498-A (torturing woman for dowry) was registered after an inquiry against the accused.  No arrests had been made so far.

PTU yet to pursue case in court despite UGC nod
