Travel agent booked for cheating in Mehatpur

The Mehatpur police have booked a travel agent for cheating and breach of trust. SHO Manjit Singh said that Sukhwinder Kaur of Loheke village in Ferozepur district complained to Jalandhar (rural) SSP that she gave Rs. 1.5 lakh to Yadwinder Singh Lohgarh village for facilitating his son's emigration.

But her son was neither sent abroad nor was her money returned. SHO said a case under sections 406 (breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the IPC been registered against the accused after an inquiry.

Jasnoor kidnapping case : Kidnappers in two day police remand

A local court has sent Soni Kumar and Vishal Kumar, both kidnappers of nine-year-old Jasnoor, to two day police remand on Monday.
Both the accused lived in Jasnoor's neighbourhood and were residents of local Sant Nagar. The Navi Baradari police have been investigating three mobile phone sims recovered from the kidnappers to find out whether they were procured through fake documents or not. Both the kidnappers are allegedly drug addicts and hatched a plan to kidnap the boy when he was playing cricket on August 29.
