Two booked for raping minor

A nine-year-old was allegedly raped by two persons in Kot Sadiq locality here on Wednesday night.


One of the accused have been identified as Chottu and other is minor, both are residents of the said locality. They committed the crime around 8.30 pm on Wednesday night.

Police have arrested the minor accused while teams have been formed to nab Chottu.

A case under sections 376 (rape) and 120-B (punishment of criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused at police division number 5.

Speaking with Hindustan Times, the victim's mother alleged that her daughter had gone to Chottu's shop to buy eggs and did not return. After 8.30 pm, she along with her husband went to search for her daughter but to no avail. Later, the girl was found standing on road.

The victim's mother said that her daughter narrated the whole incident on Thursday morning. Both the accused forcibly took her to a nearby empty plot and raped her, she alleged.

The victim's mother said that one of the neighbours called the police and informed about the incident on Thursday.

Assistant police of commissioner (west) Ravinder Pal Singh Sandhu said that teams had been launched to nab Chottu.
