Woman among four booked for cheating,criminal conspiracy

The sadar police have booked a woman and three men on charges of cheating by impersonation and criminal conspiracy. SHO DS Gill said the accused, identified as Kulwinder Kaur, Veer Sain, Sarabjit and Shingara Singh are residents of Bhodipur village.


Gurdev Singh a resident of Meinwal Arain village complained to Jalandhar (rural) SSP that Veer got registered an FIR in 2009 on fake name of Sukhdev Singh against him under Sections 323, 324 (voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapons) and 34(committing crime with common intention) of the IPC by inflicting self inuries.

Gurdev said the FIR was cancelled later but the accused blackmailed him for withdrawing case from the court. The SHO inquired into the matter and sent his report to the DSP who sent it to district attorney (DA) seeking legal opinion. The SHO said a case under Sections 419 (cheating by personation) 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC has been registered against the accused.
