Wearing his younger brother's shoes cost a youth his life in Dasuya near here on Friday. The younger brother got offended so much that he slit the throat of his elder brother with a knife. The victim died on the spot.

The police said the youths' father Mangat Ram, a daily wager, had two days ago bought new shoes for his 18-year-old son Karan.

When his elder son Neeraj, 20, tried them on his feet, Karan got annoyed and, in a fit of anger, attacked his brother with a knife. Neeraj sustained injuries in his groins but he survived, the police said.

However, on Friday evening, when Neeraj was sleeping in the house, Karan once again picked the knife and slit his brother's throat. As the knife sliced the wind pipe, it resulted in Neeraj's death on the spot.

Dasuya SHO Pritam Singh reached the spot and started the investigations after registering a case.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Narinder Bhargav informed that the accused had been arrested and a murder case registered against him.
