Hours after two terrorists were shot dead, Pakistan again fired along the line-of-control (LoC) at Nangi Tekri area in Krishna Ghati sector in Poonch district, late on Saturday night. Defence spokesperson said Pakistan troops fired along the forward posts with assault rifles.

He said firing started at about 11pm Saturday night and continued for some time.

However, army sources said firing again started early Sunday morning at about 2 a.m. and both sides exchanged fire for about 30 minutes.

According to reports, there is no loss of life and property.

Two terrorists on Saturday were shot dead in Bigial Dara area in Poonch, which is about 50km from this site of fresh firing.

Source said it was also an attempt to push in terrorist by providing cover and also to divert the attention of the army.

Pakistan has stepped up firing in Poonch and Rajouri districts for about month. An infiltration attempt was foiled in Sawjian area on May 3. The Pak army had fired along the Mendhar sector on May 28 also.

Defence sources said there has been concentration of terrorists across the LoC, but they are not able to infiltrate because of the high alert and preparedness of the Indian army.
