Jewellery, Rs 30 lakh stolenfrom financier's house

Jewellery, cash worth Rs 30 lakh, and a pistol were stolen from the house of a financier in Bank Colony of Basti Bawa Khel locality on Wednesday.

According to information, the victim Gian Pal Singh got to know about the incident on Wednesday when he and his family returned home after attending a function at his daughter's in-laws house in Uttarakhand.

Singh, a financier, said when he opened the locks of his house on Wednesday morning, he was shocked to see that the entire house was ransacked.

The accused entered into the house from a window of a room and decamped with gold jewellery, cash worth `13 lakh, .32 bore pistol, 10 live cartridges and other valuables.
A team of police officials, including station house officer (SHO) Sukhjeet Singh, forensic experts and a dog squad, was pressed into service to collect vital clues to trace the thieves.

A case of theft was registered at the Basti Bawa Khel police station.
