July robbery case solved

Police have booked three people for opening fire on a bus driver, Rajwinder Singh, at the local bus stop in Bathinda on February 9, 2012, over a trivial issue.

Police have booked three people for opening fire on a bus driver, Rajwinder Singh, at the local bus stop in Bathinda on February 9, 2012, over a trivial issue.

Rajdeep Singh, Kulwinder Singh and Deepu have been booked. A woman had been injured in the incident. Rajdeep is in judicial custody at Bathinda central jail in connection with another case. The remaining two accused are on the run. A case has been registered against all three accuse under Section 307 of the IPC and 34 of the Arms Act.

In another case, the police have booked nine people for attacking one Sandeep Kumar of Ghudda village and looting Rs 10,000 on July 30. Kumar was seriously injured. Police have arrested Anatarpreet Singh, Avtar Singh, Lakhwinder Singh, Charanjit Singh, Dhalwinder Singh and Sandeep Singh. More than Rs 25,000 and some jewellery have been recovered from the accused.

The police claimed that one Kulvir Singh had planned the attack, while locked up in Bathinda central jail. Two accused are on the run in this case. A case has been registered at the Sadar police station, Bathinda.
